I run a small directory, and I want to encourage submissions from
relevant publishers. It is the site in my .sig.

I do searches occasionally to find relevant sites to add, and
have a Google Alert set up for the topic.

I contacted Affiliate Announce, but haven't heard back.

Any ideas to get the right people to find me?

What's unique about your website? What are you doing which hasn't been
done a thousand times before? Why should publishers spend the time
signing up on your site vs. any of a thousand other sites?

Advertise.

But first do a redesign. Your site is not attractive or sophisticated
enough to inspire confidence in the target audience.

My curiosity got the best of me after reading this so I had a look. Red
is right: the website looks like something from about 15 years ago. The
original poster should make a new design his/her number one priority.

LOL. Actually the first thing I wrote as a reply was that the design was
circa 1990s, but I changed it because that sounded a little harsh.

3 words.
Redesign, redesign, redesign.
Your web site simply does not reflect professionalism or style, and that will kill any prospective visitor conversion in 10
seconds.
